The person behind the SAA BATCH'83 REUNION PLAN...
BY: EMILIA DIMALANTA MAURICIO
I remember the date when this
person requested me to be a friend in my FACE BOOK account, it was later part of 2010, and to be honest I didn't recognize
him nor remembered anything about him. I tried to look his name in some accounts of my friends in FB and I discovered that
he was a former classmate from high school so I accepted his request. After few days we started to communicate through
FB until more classmates were searched, no doubt he was very eager to put up a plan for reunion of our batch... since then
we shared ideas through FB, text and call with some persons on his behalf especially those who are in abroad namely: LORENZO
CATACUTAN, LONG HERNANDEZ, YOLLY GUEVARRA, DIVINA LALIC, JULIUS VELASCO, ARACELI SANTIAGO and some others.
I gave him some contact number of our classmates and batch mates, with the help of LUCILA REYES and a big help offered by
ENERIE EDUARDO until one day he told us that he would visit Philippines and one of his target was to meet us... then the day
came, he gave me a ring telling that he was here already and about to visit us, we shared the good news to some concerned
persons, it was _______________________, we met in front of Jaen Municipal Hall, that time was very memorable because after
28 years old faces have seen and recognizing each other was really exciting. Our happiness continued at LAMARANG RESTAURANT
at Cabanatuan, with us were: LUCILA REYES, ENERIE EDUARDO, LIZA MIRANDA, WILLY PAYNOR, RAMON BOCOBO, EDNALYN PAMILOZA (with
her husband Anselmo) and RANILO MACALINAO, there the long dreamed reunion was carefully talked about and planned.
One day I opened my FB and e mail, I really surprised because he had already organized the REUNION COMMITTEE and there he
appointed me as the chairman which is I knew a big responsibility but I accepted it in return to the trust that he had given
to me, same reaction with the other officers appointed, since then we started to do the planning with this MAN BEHIND... my
dear classmates/batch mates the person I am talking is JUANCHO (JHUN) AQUINO, a successful man in his
field of profession somewhere in Russia, a man of less word but full of action, a humble man who never think to air his name
behind this big event and a man whose only dream is to bring this reunion into reality... what else can I say, no words to
say but A BIG THANKS MY DEAR CLASSMATE!
Maybe he deserves to be recognized in any little way for I am sure he won't do it for himself, he provided everything
including the recent one the website that all of us are enjoying now and yet he didn't include his name nor his identity because
for him not the POPULARITY OR BEING WELL KNOWN but THE UNITY...
Different styles of serving food were carefully studied, the advantages and disadvantages,
and we agreed upon in FOOD WILL BE SERVED PER TABLE for it will be more convenient to everyone.
Picture taking and picture collection is still going on, LUCY is the assigned person, follow up to the batch
mates will be done by everybody.
There were two suggested venue/place of event :
Aurora @ San Josef/Navao, Jaen, Nueva Ecija
Kawayan @ Sitio Polilio, San Isidro, Nueva Ecija
will make an ocular visit to the two suggested places as soon as possible (probably on or before Aug. 21). Al together with
the other guys had visited the Bahay Kawayan already, for the satisfaction of everybody; the officers will make comparison
as soon as they will have visited the two suggested places. Note: can we take picture
of these places so that we have also some idea as for the benefit of others, try to check also if any internet provision.
The tentative date given were carefully studied,
officers suggested thatApril 8, 2012 would be better because it would be very hard to make reservation on April 7, 2012 considering
that this day is SABADO DE GLORIA... still open for changes depend upon the decision by the other persons behind this event.
The officers will immediately start the listing of possible attendees, Emily will make a GM for all
batch mates to their reported cell/phone numbers, for those who will not reply will be given follow up by visiting them personally
In catering services, SERVER'S was the choice of majority but upon visiting the
suggested venue we will consider some suggestions because most of the resort has suggested partner caterer and it might be
offer at lower price.
Games for reunion were listed; it is better not to show the lists so that this will
be surprise for everybody and create excitement. Ellen G. Santos will be the one who will be in charge to discuss the rules
of the games.
Names of former teachers were listed, with their FIRST NAME this time except for
Ms. Parungao and Ms. De Belen.Names listed are:
Mrs. Loreto Velarde
Mrs. Eleonor Benito
Mrs . Lorenza Santos
Mrs. Josie So Santos
Mrs. Eleonor Diaz
Mr. Danny Pallarca
Mrs. Lina Bustamante
Mrs. Edith Parumog Pradez
Mrs. Cirila Gamboa
Mrs. Catalina Ganao Pallarca
Mrs. Mercy Reyes
Mrs. Nenita de Castro
Mrs. Eva Roxas Africa
Mrs. Corazon Gallardo
There were no changes made in last meeting suggested food/menu, Julius also agreed for it.
For the calendar proposal, officers suggested to include pictures of meetings conducted and activities in diff. months, quite
good if a short history on how this big event started including the persons behind will be included considering that the theme
SAA Batch '83 Grand Reunion will be soon a reality and later on a history.
After almost three decades of separate lives, each one found
career and built a family, now here we are about to meet each other again and ready to tell different stories of our lives
not to measure nor classify the level of life we have achieved but to prove that we are still one family.
When this upcoming reunion of ours was still in a period of scattered ideas and opinions as if very impossible to put into reality considering
that most of the concerned persons have already living in abroad... that time, all of us were asking how it would be?
Since this plan was started, so much effort were given by
our batch mates who voluntarily took the responsibility of being one among the few... they are the planners, the organizers
and the financers as well, what matter most is how it is funded and will be funded until the final event comes.
Batch '83 is very lucky being blessed by successful batch
mates who are financially fit to finance this grand reunion, an amount that enough to cover up the expenses from beginning
to end... we used the money that they have sent in putting up banners, holding meetings, giving aid to our batch mates who
needed most, taking pictures and making follow up to our batch mates who are not yet contacted.
My dear batch mates we owe this to the following persons: JUANCHO AQUINO, LORENZO
CATACUTAN, LONG HERNANDEZ, YOLANDA GUEVARRA HALAWE, ARACELI SORIANO AND JON JON DE BELEN, it is not
the amount that being credited nor the service that being rendered
but it is " GO BATCH'83! ALL FOR ONE, ONE FOR ALL".
In behalf of Batch '83 members we thank you and WE ARE
VERY PROUD OF YOU!

some persons in uniforms to escort for the said motorcade.
5. Banners will be posted again in January, 2012
at people's 2 favorite places ... MARKET and CHURCH, one banner will be posted also to the venue.
There was a suggestion about the color of the t shirts for the attendees, we may use 3 colors for the attendees in order for
the batch mates to recognize their classmates easily considering that majority of the batch mates will not be recognized their
a. IV - Gold YELLOW
IV - Silver WHITE
- Bronze LIGHT BROWN/BEIGE
are hoping that this will not be misinterpreted because what we want is to unite, this is only a suggestion so the final color
will be based on your decision.
7. Souvenir for the former teachers was also discussed, and it could
be better if things like this will be prepared before 2012.
8. Video and photo coverage is still under negotiation.
Food caterer is still in the process of canvassing from which we can save more.

going on, text messages are sent to our batch mates and phone calls are done to others, target date to accomplish this is

be given to the attendees while the other half will be raffled, this will be done upon registration of the attendees.

our target batch mates as soon as possible. Our target date for this to accomplish is before the next meeting (November 13-
tentative schedule of he next meeting).
12. Some parts of the programs during the reunion were discussed and
will be finalized by January, 2012. Suggestions are open for everybody.
